3 out of 5 stars High Quality but Too Heavy   October 9, 2008
Bullguard Internet Security is an application which will protect different aspects of your machine: the firewall, antivirus and spamfilter are the most important ones.

I am using this software on a windows vista machine and have to say the installation procedure is clean and simple. The user interface of the program is reasonable intuitive to navigate and in no time I had all schedules up and running the way I wanted. I've been very satisfied with the quality of the antivirus and spamfilters and have had no problems with this feature whatsoever.

The firewall sometimes work a little too good. The first annoyance was that the program asked me for every single program I ran whether I should give it access to the internet or not. Luckily you can only have bullguard ask that question once so no worries any more. A second annoyance was that I wanted to configure some exceptions for the firewall so I could use a custom P2P program we use at work. This was a nightmare: finding where and what to change was too complicated than necessary and I hope future versions will address this issue.

Finally, I found that Bullguard slowed down my computer tremendously! I don't know why software companies don't spend a bit more time trying to strip their applications down to the bare minimum. A big thumbs down in this respect.

All in all I think it is a reasonable piece of software but only because I consider an anti-virus program absolutely critical do I allow it to slow my machine down. If this weren't the case, I would have looked for another application.

5 out of 5 stars A review for the computer naive!   September 26, 2008
I use computers all the time but have no idea how or why they work. I installed this into my laptop and it was as easy as pie. I get a daily message to say it has updated and it alerts me when an 'attack' has been successfully aborted, which is quite satisfying. As an added bonus I now have a nice little bulldog icon on my desktop. I suppose that ultimately this product would appear to do exactly what it says on the box and I feel much safer for it :)

4 out of 5 stars Solid virus protection for Windows XP   September 18, 2008
Thanks to the Vine programme, I was able to try this on Windows XP, and it's one of the most solid Internet security programs I have used. The program is faster than Norton, McAfee and Trend, not to mention the freeware AVG (which I was running, having moved mainly over to Mac OS X), and appears to be just as efficient, whilst being much easier and quicker to install and run. The program also includes a firewall, spam filter and anti-spyware options, all of which are easy and simple to use, and have such a limited effect on the system, you almost forget it's running.

I haven't tested this on Vista, but based on my experience with XP, I'd recommend this above all over Internet security programs - if yours is coming up to expiry, give Bullguard a go!

4 out of 5 stars Protection   September 18, 2008
This is a great security package. Simple to install and provides instant protection from all those pesky gremlins!!

I previously used the free AVG - however it was limited and to be totally free/protected from the internet it would have proved too costly... Until a malicious program got on my PC and wiped pretty much everything!

So, I plumped for this - and I'm so glad I did. I need not worry again!! Thanks to Bullguard I can see exactly what's going on in the background and take complete control over what does enter my system!

Totally recommended.

4 out of 5 stars Easy to use, no bells or whistles   September 15, 2008
Bullguard has a great reputation for PC seecurity and deservedly so. This is a simple to install piece of software that runs quietly in hte background. It requires minimal maintenance from the user, and doesn't provide more than it needs to. I've only been using it a few weeks but beyond what I've said, I;m very happy with it!
