Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars There must be better than this!!!   October 27, 2008
I bought this product last year, and yes it works, it does put controls on whatever you ask it to. BUT since it was installed on the pc there has been nothing but troubles with a perfectly good pc before it was installed. It seemed to attract viruses (could be coincedence) and it has had to be uninstalled and reinstalled more times than I care to remember. Also it runs out after a year and you have to pay again for the next year and every other year after.Surely there's something that works as well at blocking content, but once you've bought it then you own it for good. Not impressed and wish I'd purchased something else.

4 out of 5 stars Works -- but be careful!   September 25, 2007

I just needed this to limit kids' time on the PC. It works in that once the time limit is exceeded it won't let them download more, tho' the pages already downloaded continue to work; and non-internet time isn't limited. Also blocks specific times of day if required. Filtering not so great though, if that's a concern -- perfectly innocent pix rejected as "adult content". HOWEVER, you should be aware that this product digs itself deep into the operating system, and once installed, uninstalling can be a mess. Reinstalling is impossible without technical assistance, since their database remembers you and stops you installing a second time. [If you try out the free 2-week trial of the online version, get rid of it before the 2 weeks is up, unless you decide to keep it.] I had quite a bit of trouble -- at one point thought I'd have to reinstall the operating system, since networking, system restore, even the Windows start button stopped working -- but their technical assistance people do respond, are helpful, and in the end it was fine. (If you do that, make sure you have a second PC around to receive e-mails from them!) For the technically minded, to get it off your system you have to reset Winsock, then delete anything to do with ContentWatch from the program files directory and from documents & settings/all users/apps data.
