I had been using Photodeluxe 2.0 for many years, after receiving the software bundled with a printer. I found that 2.0 was giving me problems with XP however, so I recently purchased 4.0 Home Edition. The basic functionality is similar to the earlier version, but the interface and some of the tools have been updated, plus the web and e-mail features have been added. Unlike 2.0, the software has shown no glitches on XP at all. I haven't tried Vista yet, but I would not expect this to be a problem.
I can thoroughly recommend 4.0 as a simple to use, but really powerful editing toolkit - the smartselect, clone and re-touch features particularly allow even a new user to soon be adept at fixing images and producing creative products. I have not come across any other products which get close to this as an ideal tool for a home user.
A sound purchase.

If you already own Photodeluxe 3.0, upgrading to version 4.0 is only really neccessary if you send a lot of photographs via the internet.The functions in 4.0 are the same as 3.0. I do like the new albums though, a great improvement, on ezphoto. If you are new to this type of photo editing, buy this product, it is so easy to import, fix, alter, and generally have fun with photo's. The cost is very competative.
