I was not happy with this DVD August 19, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this DVD as my partner had a previous version last year, and he passed the test. So I bought this one again but with a latest version.
But I am not really happy with it, the picture is not clear at all, for example, I cannot see the car's breaking lights or indictor, so of course I cannot respond as quickly as I can. It was really depressing for me, and I thought it was my own problem....
Anyway, I don't like.
A good buy April 28, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have just taken my test (April 2008) and this software combined with the DSA theory test book helped me pass with no problems at all. Lots of clips and mock exams and you will find that after trying a few you start to get the feel of when you should be clicking, and how many times. The actual DSA test clips are slower, so you will probably find the actual test easier. That said, my final score in the exam was very similar to the ones I got on the dvd, which was in the 60's. If you're not sure about what to expect on the hazard perception then you should buy this.
A very useful aid - but some of the video clips are grainy in places! April 2, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been driving for 15 years, so I gained my car licence before the theory and hazard perception tests were introduced. Now, I am working towards obtaining my motorbike licence, so I purchased this as an aid for the hazard perception part of the theory test.
The software is well laid out and includes lots of bonus material explaining how the test works and includes driving with commentary from serving Police drivers.
My only gripe is that some of the video clips are extremely grainy in places - you're unsure if what you see in the distance is a hazard, or an artifact introduced as a result of the video compression (Cwmpencraig 2 is a particular example).
I do hope that the video clips used in the real DSA test are of higher resolution than the clips in this DVD.
Excellent - accurate representation of the real test January 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this for my 18 year old daughter who had been using the WWW and a loaned copy of the DSA version as preparation for her hazard perception test on the 3rd Jan. She found this the best by far, the video clips are clearer, there are a lot more of them and the hazards are not all so obvious. She also said that this CD is much more representative of the actual test. She passed with flying colours (69/75) which is one of the highest marks the test centre had seen. All in all - money very well spent.
Great Value For Money Indeed November 8, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bourght this after I had used the DSA DVD, this is far better than the DSA which is more expensive and far less helpful, This has more video clips than you can remember which is refreshing and helpful considering the DSA DVD only had about a dozen which got old real fast, following my failure as a result most likely to the DSA DVD and my overconfidence I found this very helpful.
Anybody thinking of buying this for a theory test I would recommend it above the DSA version at the very least, I'm not sure if there are any better interactive DVD's out there like this, but considering the price, I would buy it.
All that and I don't even work for the guys who makes this DVD, I should get paid for reviewing this product lol!! - Pierre-
