I am sure pro writers will certainly find the methodology too basic, but personnaly I must say that when you don't know how to start and how to organize your thoughs (like me), Novel Writer guidelines are very helpful and straightforward.

Before buying Novel writer, I bought a book about the art of writing. It was very interesting but I felt IT HAD too much theory, not enough practice
At least with Novel Writer, I have the feeling I'M movING forward by producing organized writing. Maybe other people will work differently but it has been good for me.

At a Christmas 07 get-together I was again reminded of an earlier new year's pledge to produce a novel and my inertia was gaining a reputation. A French litterati friend suggested the English version of the "J'ecris un roman" software, that is, "Novel Writer" and explained that this "wizard" style creative writing tool walks you through: a good start (the hook); character development; and structuring a plot. Three months later, I still have no novel and no publisher (yet) but a few short stories and some momentum.
