JERKY RESULTS FROM A POOR SUPPLIER June 27, 2007 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
Bought this software based on all the great reviews.Unfortunately I found it extremely frustrating to actually cut a scene from the captured footage, then when finished after a 3-4 hour slog,I burnt to DVD only to find the image jerky. Contacted the Customer service on e-mail as the phone number did not work and despite following the instructions from the e-mail help line the results are still the same.Complained to the supplier who now refuses to refund. This experience is really off putting, maybe the people who love this software can explain why it's so good.It does nothing for me!!
Amazing piece of software June 2, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I do a lot of filmmaking in my spare time and I have never been happier with an editor for this price. A must buy, for anyone wishing to make their home-movies look like they were made by pros.
Fantastic April 20, 2007 21 out of 21 found this review helpful
After I found Windows Movie Maker no longer satisfied my video-making-needs, I downloaded a number of trial softwares to try and find the best possible program for me. I tried Adobe Premiere Pro, Sony Vegas, Nero 6.0 and a few other programs, but I found they were all a disappointment. They were all so complicated and difficult to use. But then I tried Ulead! Ulead is simple. It's easy to get the hang of. Saying that, it is jam-packed with a lot of brilliant features. You can use it to make videos, DVDS, cut clips. You can use video transitions and features which are far superior to those of Windows Movie Maker. There's no messy file converting involved - just drag & drop and you're off! Contrary to what a reviewer said, you CAN use Ulead on a laptop, I assure you. It works fine. For this price, Ulead is a fantastic video editing program. In fact I think that it's superior to those even double in price. If you're looking for a simple program, but not a boring program, Ulead is for you. Hey - download the trial before you buy and then you can see what I mean!
Performance Advice April 12, 2007 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
This is my third version of VideoStudio and it is by far the best. But! Buyer Beware you need a powerful PC otherwise you will experience 'hanging', therefore, what ever it says on the package - double it. The User Interface has improved extensively but rendering is still a slow process but I note from other reviews there are 'workarounds'. For the money, I think this is a best buy - I have one concern, what will happen now Corel has bought the company; I hope the price doesn't go up.
Crashes, often March 11, 2007 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
The software does have a good interface upon first use, and the transitions etc are highly effective. However, once you have loaded so many video files onto your interface, it goes haywire. Try to delete files and they still count as memory used, but you are unable to put them into a video. The program crashes a lot, and the storage of media is very unorganised.
