3 out of 5 stars Easygen review   June 6, 2008
I was looking forward to using this software after reading reviews (mostly good)- especially as I have not had any experience before in designing websites.
I reckon if you have not got programming experience and want to create a complicated databased site - then you will be wasting a lot of time in the beginning. If you want your site up and running sooner rather than much later- then you are better of employing the services of a web-site designer to do this for you. I wasted alot of time in becoming familiar with the tutorials, videos, etc- but did not manage to get very far and then in the end I had to find a website designer to complete my project.
If they held courses for training on Easygen then I am sure the software will be very popular
In the meantime, if you have time on your hands -and patient enough to go through all the tutorials then it is worth the 70-80 and will serve your purpose - otherwise steer clear of it and save time & frustration
by finding a website designer

1 out of 5 stars impenetrable if you arent technically minded   April 19, 2008

As someone who has no knowledge of the technical side of website building i was attracted to this software by the title "easy". frankly, it is not AT ALL easy to use. I was expecting templates and lots of help and there just wasnt any. Unless you know what youre doing already, dont waste your hard earned cash and precious time on this "imprenegen"

1 out of 5 stars Please don't waste your money   May 29, 2007

I've never posted an online review before but feel compelled to warn people away from this product. With a good computer degree and 15 years of professional software development behind me I was looking forward to a labour saving development kit. This software is not intuitive, it's hard to use and clunky. The inbuilt help is substandard; the best training was some video which I got by separate Google (couldn't link to this from within the software help). I've since switched to a far superior (and free) competitor. I didn't mind the money for easyGen - it's not too expensive, but I'll never forgive it for the lost hours and days of productivity as I tried to get it to work. It set one of my projects back significantly. The day I uninstalled it was a happy day.

4 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU AREN'T HIGHLY COMPETENT WITH COMPUTERS!   January 12, 2007

Thats the message.

It is a very good piece of software, very powerful, and moderately intuitive if you have done a lot of databasing before, but for the average user, this is head and shoulders above you.

Its got a lot of bugs, and crashes often under annoying circumstances.

It also seems to have problems with importing HTML with CSS in it. It was essentially changing the code in my HTML, and causing itself to crash, which was quite annoying!

Overall though its a stunning program, its great, but make sure you know what you are doing first.

Also, use the tutorials on the EasyGen website... they really help.

(Also, the spelling on this program is substandard and pretty annoying. Catagory seems to be his most frequent mistake (Actual Spelling: Category)

5 out of 5 stars it's a real break through   February 27, 2006

I am at school in the 6th form and we have to do dynamic web development for the new suite of qualifications (dida) as I want to be a web developer this software has been my holy grail. It does all the programming and database connections and building. It has allowed me to create really good functional sites, without any stress or learning.

I honestly thought I would have to learn PHP and try and muddle along with Dreamweaver until my teacher told me about this program.

Being a student we also don't have much money, and I can not believe how cheap easyGen is. It's fantastic value for money and a superb program. A must for anyone who wants to develop web sites.
