Product Description Keeping in touch and communicating with customers isessential for any business. A complete business publishing and marketingmaterials solution Publisher 2003 can help you reach out to customers. WithPublisher2003 it's easier
Amazon.co.uk Review Office Publisher 2003 is a desktop publishing package, designed to enable non-professionals to put together publications that look good. Typical uses are for greetings cards, newsletters, advertisements, invitations and leaflets. Part of the Office 2003 family, Publisher 2003 shares a common look and feel with applications such as Word and Excel. One of the best things in Office Publisher 2003 is its huge range of pre-built designs. There is a fantastic range, the quality is good, and you can apply one of numerous colour scheme or font schemes to add variety. Overall there is a reasonable chance your Publisher design will not be exactly the same as the one from your friend or colleague. Office Publisher 2003 also gives access to an extensive clip-art library, both on CD and online. That means you do not have to be artistic or have design skills, although if you are that way inclined you can start with a blank publication and create your own design. The interface is elegant and easy to use, and a powerful set of tools is on offer. The 2003 version resolves a long-standing Publisher problem, in that you can now justify multiple columns vertically as well as horizontally. There is also better support for commercial printing, including separations and composite CMYK Postscript output. Office Publisher 2003 is a superb package, but it is best suited for short documents such as leaflets and advertisements, rather than long documents such as books and manuals. There's no support for indexes, cross-references or tables of contents. Office Publisher 2003 can also be used to create websites, sometimes with good results, but as a Web tool it's inflexible. Within its true target area though, Office Publisher 2003 is brilliant. --Tim Anderson

Works with Zoomtext 9 May 15, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had problems with my publisher 2000 when I had to start using Zoomtext 9, at level 3 magnification - It would not load the graphics on to the page. Since upgrading to 2003, I can now use all the features of the program and the graphics load fine. Without it I could no longer use the computer for DTP, as I now find the programs I did use - Photoshop and Indesign - are too intricate for my very poor eyesight - I am so pleased I can still work, even though it be in a more limited way, I can still get acceptable results. Thankyou MS for the accessibility
Multilingual features of Publisher June 15, 2004 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
One little mentioned but important feature of Publisher is that it works with Unicode and OpenType fonts for complex scripts such as Devanagri, Tamil, Arabic, and Nastaliq - indeed any complex script supported by Microsoft's OpenType layout engine Uniscribe. In fact it currently seems to be the only Windows page layout software which can be used to publish Unicode text data for complex Indic scripts.
Great DTP from Microsoft December 31, 2003 20 out of 21 found this review helpful
I have used Publisher since I had my first computer. I have always found the product easy to use and extremely functional. The new Office Publisher 2003, takes the product even further. The ease with which it integrates to the Office suite is everything that you could wish. Design of postcards, calenders, flyers of any description is so easy. The links for web design are so easy to use and the switch between DTP and HTML is a delight. Seeing the web page in format and detail is superb, as is the easy links to other web sites. Publisher's link to the web for searches again makes the job easy. This product is so easy and intuitive to use that teaching beginners is a real doddle. If you can't use this product to some degree of capability after two weeks, then you should forget DTP and web design. Believe me, this is great, and no, I do not work for Microsoft!!
