Not up to the hype August 31, 2008 First the good news : Easy to install on XP and the interface seems user friendly. Now the not so good news : Despite running incremental backups every week for several months when I actually needed to use the product it did not restore all of the data and hung at 97% completion. Perhaps foolishly I tried again and was informed that the backup was corrupted. Gave up. Reinstalled the OS and system software the old fashioned way and am manually backing up data every week onto external HDD. On reflection I think this software gave me a false sense of security.
Useless piece of software! August 29, 2008 This sounded like a great idea. However after installing and performing a full back up on my new high spec PC. I disappeared for a few hours and came back to discover all my personal data had disappeared- photo's documents etc.
I tried to restore the backup to find it hadn't worked after all even though the closing box said it had completed successfully.
Its a good job I had got a spare data backup on another external hard drive, but I still lost all the work I done that afternoon.
I have uninstalled the software and will contact Amazon to see if can get a refund.
Acronis still haven't got back to me!
Rubbish all round!

I've used Acronis True image 11 for cloning my Laptop hard drive after 2 attempts with Norton Ghost 10 none worked so used Acronis worked first time. I've also used it to clone USB dongle's with no problems at all.. So easy to use with all the right options. Running Windows XP pro

I purchased this software 2 weeks ago.Works fine.Backups to a 500GB external HDD - also works fine.So far-good. (OS=XP). Have not tried back-up to CD ROM yet - and probably will not.
First Class July 4, 2008 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
I already had a backup/restore facility on my Acer laptop via so called Acer Empowering Technology. However it always took 3.5 hours to complete a full system backup which sometimes failed first time stretching the run time to an incredible 7 hours! Getting very fed up with this and having heard good reports on Acronis True Image I have just purchased the 11. version.
Superb and so easy to set up and use. I did a full backup to an external hard drive in 24 mins and another to the Acronis Secure Zone partition I set up on my internal hard drive in 40 mins without a single hitch. Well done Acronis.
