Product Description TRIBEKA CHARANGA KEYBOARD COACH
Amazon.co.uk Review Liszt, Chopin, Jools Holland... You? Well, why not? With the help of this admirable new learn-to-play CD-ROM, even the most banana-fingered of pianists could end up doing a passable impression of a keyboard virtuoso. In essence, the Keyboard Coach is a highly skilled and very patient piano teacher. A piano teacher content to live in your cupboard. Using the latest hi-tech gizmos like video sequences, computerised metronome and onscreen notation, the Keyboard Coach takes the would-be pianist from the simplest one-bar boogie through to the execution of fairly complex rock, pop, country and classical tunes (many of them standards). On the way the Coach also spots your mistakes, gives you hints on fingering, and helps you polish your style with those video clips. The Keyboard Coach will also slow down the tunes when things get a bit tricky; or take you through the actual construction of a keyboard if you're wholly mystified. And when you're finally ready to hit the ivories, big time, the Coach will provide orchestral and percussive accompaniment to your joyous vamps and riffs. In some ways, in fact, the Keyboard Coach is better than any real-time piano teacher: no matter how mangled your scales, the Keyboard Coach won't slam the piano lid on your fingers, or sigh sarcastically and aggressively while simultaneously whingeing about his failed musical career. --Sean Thomas

Fantastic October 21, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this as I had tried to teach myself previously through books without any success. This program blew me away and within weeks I was playing tunes with chords which had before seemed as if it wasn't achievable without a real teacher. This program shows you which keys to play, adds band instruments in such as Acc and Drums and even tells you when you are going wrong once connected with a MIDI Cable. This software is amazing and I will certainly be buying Keyboard Coach 2 to develop my skills further.
This was fun October 16, 2004 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
I asked for this last Christmas and didn't get it then bought if myself. Yes, its great covers basic to more advanced and is easy to understand. It'll have you playing chopsticks again in no time. Maybe not for the really serious amateaur but if its fun you want this has it!
Learn to play with accompaniment June 9, 2003 30 out of 32 found this review helpful
If you are a beginner, or if you have only learnt to play solo, and you want to learn how to play as a bandmember, this program is for you. This program will also teach keyboard techniques, like using the accompaniment built into many keyboards. The focus is on playing together with others, and on playing with accompaniment. For this the program is excellent. There are many skills to be learned for playing a keyboard or a piano, and its to much to hope for a program that will teach you all of them. Combining Keyboard Coach with a more traditional piano education is therefore a good idea.
