1 out of 5 stars Terrible product, no end of problems   July 31, 2008

I purchased this product, installed it on my Vista laptop and had an initial issue with it popping up repeatedly saying that I had a trial version, when I had purchased a full version with multiple licenses. I tried with their online support team and then telephone support to resolve this issue. No one was able to resolve the issue and then when the so called 'trial period' ended it stopped working altogether. I once again spent endless hours on the telephone and with online tech help to try and resolve this issue and in the end downloaded a new bit defender from a link they sent me which stopped my laptop working completely. I could only operate my computer from safe mode and had no internet capability. I had to completely uninstall the product and remove every trace of it as well as do a full system restore to get my computer working again. After all of this I could not get a refund from Amazon as their return period is shorter than the 'trial version' period of bit defender. I then had to spend more time on the phone with bit defender complaining and trying to get a refund on a product that did not work and disabled my laptop. I would not reccommend this product to anyone. I have since installed bullguard antivirus and find it far superior.

4 out of 5 stars bit of alright?   June 23, 2008

had bitdefender 9 for two years and rated that superb.would rate this nearly as highly, but must admit takes slightly longer to load up from start up.been using now for about 4 months, no real moans, had no problems like slowing down the speed of my PC, so can,t understand some of these reviews? must admit the interface is not as easy to understand as 9 was, so takes a bit of getting used to where everything is! but apart from that a good buy all round!

1 out of 5 stars I am offloading it straight after I post this!   June 21, 2008

Bit defender gave me a free month's trial, via their website. Perfect I thought - try before I buy! I am so glad I did as I can offload it without it costing me anything!
My laptop has crashed repeatedly since I added Bitdefender, and it has slowed down massively - particularly when opening applications like Excel.
I also got irritated by the constant little boxes asking if I want to allow systems to update - systems that are perfectly safe and have previously sat happily alongside Kaspersky. You can't ignore these boxes as you have to tick them.
I am trying to work from this pc, using Excel, but it is slowing down my work process so I am losing money - so bye bye bitdefender!

1 out of 5 stars Strangled my pc   June 2, 2008

I bought this product from another site and installed it about a month ago. This product literally choked all the speed out of my pc, despite me installing another gigabyte of ram on my pc. After uninstalling Bit Defender IS 2008 and installing a FREE antivirus/ firewall viruses were discovered that Bit Defender did not detect. Aslo my pc has got it's speed back and is a pleasure to use again. I would NOT recommend Bit Defender Internet Security 2008 to anyone.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent, and easy to understand   March 24, 2008

I bought this a few weeks ago and I'm very happy with it. Compared to my last Security package, it is easy to use, stays mainly in the background, and is quiet and efficient. As it should be.

Tha fact that it came with a fair old amount of untranslated instructions was a great start. Too often instructions are (mis)translated. These were just fine.

The product itself appears to be first rate and so simple that anyone can understand it. Again, as it should be.

Oh, and the price was very fair too.
