auto route finder 2005 August 27, 2005 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
I have been using this product for a few months now and the previous version for almost a year and find it very useful in my job as a long distance driver. But there is a slight little problem the software is only designed for cars. So it would better if it was able to use height and width restrictions.
Don't waste your money June 5, 2005 44 out of 48 found this review helpful
There are better products around for a similar price. e.g. Navigator 4 from Directions not only has more uptodate maps and better coverage, it also has voice directions. With Autoroute you need a second person to act as navigator whereas with Navigator you don't.
Not good for eastern Europe May 19, 2005 39 out of 42 found this review helpful
Using the 2002 version I did a Europe trip including Hungry, Serbia, Bosnia, Croatia, Albania, Greece. Although there wasn't much detail (especially in cities), at least there were roads marked in those countries.I recently bought the 2005 version and was disappointed to see no roads at all in those countries. I had saved the maps from the 2002 version assuming 2005 would use them but since there are no roads the new version is useless. Unless you will strictly remain in western Europe I suggest you buy the 2002 version. Although most probably out of date in places, at least there is coverage of eastern Europe.
MS Autoroute 2005 April 4, 2005 82 out of 83 found this review helpful
I was going to upgrade to the latest version but found from a friend that the M6 toll road has not been reflected in the maps that accompany the software. Neither have the modifications to the M2 junction with the A229. Until MS upgrade their maps this product will be a waste of money because it will make you expend more money on being misrouted than you would save by planning your route properly. Reading the on-line reviews has confirmed that I have made the right decision. On-line route planners may not give as much info as Autoroute but at least their maps are up to date.
If you Live in Irelad March 28, 2005 37 out of 41 found this review helpful
This product is the worst map and route planner ever put on the market masses of roads have been missed of in Ireland including major N roads The Route planner sends you half way round the country I would suggest that you plan a Journey from Riverstown Co.Sligo to Dublin Airport you will no matter how hard you try send you some 50 miles out of your way and totaly miss out the N4 direct route - All the old versions had the full road maps on - so I would suggest that if you live in Ireland get an old version about 2000 version this was ok the new one is very bad.
