Amazon.co.uk Review Perfect for today's modern royalty, Disney's Princess Fashion Boutique is sure to provide hours of artistic fun. You begin by creating a paper doll of yourself, choosing from thousands of different clothing and hairstyle combinations. The facial-feature and skin-tone options are plentiful, but it is also possible to use a self-portrait if you've got a scanner or digital camera. Either way, the dressing room is a great place for playing pretend, with a wardrobe most girls can only dream about.Once you've completed your character (and you can save up to 20 different outfits), you can put yourself in animated storybooks (as, of course, the star) and play with sounds, backgrounds and text to come up with all-new fairy tales. There are plenty of colouring options here, and they range from altering the stock art pieces to creating your own designs from scratch (using the easy icons to paint and animate them). All these creations are easily printable and can also be sent over the Internet. They have to be sent as e-mail attachments, though, so a little help from the queen or king may be necessary for your little princess to get it accomplished properly. Each of the three princess guides--Snow White, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty--has different worlds to explore, with tons of clickable treasures to add to your wardrobe. The worlds are slightly different every time they are opened, providing constant new surprises. All in all, this software is a great way of playing paper dolls and pretend, with a magic that will keep your little princess entertained for hours. --Jill Lightner

Nice but very soon you get tired of it August 10, 2004 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I liked this product and bought it for my 6 1/2 -old daughter who likes everything with "princess" in it. Okay, it was very easy to install, and beautifully designed. But so few things to do. Yes, you get to design your own princess, choosing dress, accessory and body shape, but then you can do nothing with her, you have to leave her in the dressing room, while outside there are only the three Disney Princesses available to have an adventure. And what is this adventure? They publicise it as a treasure hunt. In truth you go to a beautiful garden or forest setting, and there you just have to click everywhere until you find the item, which afterwards will show in your dressing room as an option (for instance, a beautiful rainbow sky will result in a rainbow dress, some autumn leaves will result in a leaf-patterned dress). Nothing else! My daughter was bored to death after 4-5 times she played with it. A bit like Barbie Beauty Boutique, just that the dresses are more beautiful and princess-like. Now the little one is hooked on The Sims, where you also get to dress up your characters as you wish, give them a face and character, and THEN the action begins!
