Amazon.co.uk Techno eJay 2 is one simple-to-use CD-ROM which brings the wild and groovy world of Oldskool, Hardcore and Bigbeat to the C-drive of PC, and into the four walls of your room. The software styling is in the established tradition of the hugely successful eJay series of domestic DJ enablers. A 16-track Soundmaster "console" is your principal tool, ultimate guide and on-screen arbiter. Using this console, you can summon up one of the 3,500 on-disk techno tracks (which are in various techno "stylings", like Hardhouse or Underground). Thereafter you can and should use this track as the basis for making your own funkadelic mixes. Drop'n'drag instrumental and vocal samples, chop and change your percussive elements, stretch and alter your tempos and time signatures, use the volume control to change the individual loudness of each of the 16 tracks (this bit makes one feel especially West Coast and super-professional). And for those nicely personal touches, use the Rave eJay Synthesiser for some unique grooves, or take a trip to the Effects Studio to mix in your own voice--maybe in "monster" or "comic" or even "robot" mode. Finally, if there comes a time when, heaven forbid, you're bored of the four-on-the-floor of your average techno, then just consult one of the other eJay products: Techno eJay 2 is compatible with all of them, so you could, if you had those products, theoretically be mixing your rap with your dance with that weird robot voice--which is nice. --Sean Thomas

Techno eJay 2 July 7, 2003 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This software has a very easy to use interface and the samples are clearly marked, along with the drag and drop interface this software is simple and effective for creating techno tunes. I would recomend the software to anyone who's just starting to make there own music and it's nice and quick for the advanced user so there's something for everyone. the interface is well designed and the position bar moves nice and evenly. The only downside I have found with eJay techno 2 is there is a small amount of samples to choose.
