The answer, of course, is when that piece of software provides features, tools and capabilities that go beyond what you get from the original package and in the world of CD-Rewriting, there is no more complete package than Nero Burning Rom.Whether you want to overburn CD-Rs to squeeze more data on, write to multiple drives simultaneously, create bootable CDs, remove hiss from analogue recordings, utilise Burnproof technology, or you need UDF support for packet writing CD-RWs, Nero can help you do it, plus much more. Even if these terms mean nothing to you, rest assured that Nero Burning ROM performs the basics of CD-Writing with finesse. If you were to level one criticism at this excellent product it would be that the depth of features may seem confusing for the beginner and the manual is not the clearest, but Ahead Software has made improvements over the original interface, so that it isn't too daunting. One of the biggest reasons behind the huge uptake in CD-RW drives over the past year has been the rise of MP3. Nero doesn't disappoint in this field either, with both MP3 and WMA support. It even comes with a 30-file demo encoder from the Fraunhofer Institute, the inventors of MP3, with the full version being available as a plug-in extra.

Don't believe every thing you read about this product, I bought it because it got good reviews, I was wrong. It's not that easy to use, your PC has to set up just right or it will not work and then you get buffer under runs which then cost you the price of the discs. A far better software is Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum and a lot easier to use.

I bought a PC with Adaptec CD Easy creator pre-loaded. What rubbish... but this, this is something else. Easy to use and reliable, it burns MP3s to cd with a great test-and-burn option. I love it.

Nero Burning Rom is the best cd copying software I have seen, it offers good copying and dosent suck up all of your system resources to do it either!

Nero is without a doubt the most veratile cd creating program out there. It can burn video cds, audio cds, data...you name it nero can do it! It was also the only program not to give me conflict problems with my CD Writer so that gives it a thumbs up straight away. With it's wizard and drag and drop system it is easy to use for the beginner but also has enough features for the professional to twiddle with to keep him/her happy..........much recommended.
