Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars Geoff Hamilton's 3D Garden designer   April 14, 2004

I work in IT but still spent the best part of a day working out a basic design due to the user vicious user interface and next to useless manual. The plant choices are far from comprehensive and some of the structures (fences, brick walls, tables) etc are singularly bizarre in appearance. The 3D view is a good concept but very poorly executed. I can only conclude that this software was thrown together by a bunch of programmers on the basis of next to no customer research and no interest in nor knowledge of garden design. Sadly most of the reviews I have read of competitor products equally scathing. There is certainly a niche market out there ready to be filled...maybe I'll write something myself!

5 out of 5 stars Excellent!   July 14, 2001

This package is excellent, not easy but once you get the hang of it, it really does help. Using this program I have designed my garden and it now looks excellent. I hope you buy this product to what excellent effects it has on your garden!

1 out of 5 stars Very poor product   May 25, 2001

Whilst the basic product may be OK for a gardening enthusiast.

I found the Landscaping feature little better than useless. Having tried numerous times to create a basic landscape I was constantly thwarted by it doing very strange things.

Similarly, error messages popping up again having being cleared, or alledgely having insufficient memory (256MB!).

Obviously it is an inferior product which has not been tested properly.

NOT Recommended!!

2 out of 5 stars A disappointment   May 7, 2001

A number of complaints about this package. Here are some: (a) Bad plant selection: half of the plants won't grow here (Wales), and many common spp absent. (b) Appears to have been badly translated from the original Russian. (c) I have to slow my graphics driver right down to get the 3D view, and then the whole system is tortoise-like. (d) You can't make the sun move around the model to see shadows - other packages do. (e) Designing buildings v difficult (f) Laying out paths, lawns, etc v fiddly. (g) Trying to do a hedge is a pain. (h) You can vary plant size only by a factor of 2. That's enough for now. Summary: I've wasted my cash

5 out of 5 stars Good tool for your ideas   December 5, 2000

This proved to be a lot of fun to use, and gave excellent impressions of what the garden would look like at different times of the year. The plant list is good, inspiring consideration of previously unfamiliar plants. This software is easy to learn to use, and can become quite addictive as you reshape your garden in your mind over and over again.
