Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars OK, but a bit mature...   September 5, 2008

I myself think that this game is a bit mature for us younger players. With steroids and guns and such...
Especially guns, because Darryl getting shot in the leg was a bit violent.
Of course there is the fact that the characters are cartoons and not
(like in other games) 3D, but as this is the first Nancy Drew game I shall not dwell on that.
Also the flower-puzzle took a lot out of me, it was so hard!!!
The worst thing was that there were two discs which I had to change ALL THE TIME it was SO frusturating!!! Once I almost lost my game because of it, thank god the second chance button had it saved!
The creepy factor was definetly high though, with all of the messages in books and the eerie music... ugh!
All in all, I would recommend this game for players over 13, but if you want some chills down your spine, this is definetly where to look!

3 out of 5 stars Good Way to Spend a Rainy Afternoon   July 31, 2006

This is obviously designed with the younger gamer in mind but if you are aged over 12 it'll keep you occupied for an afternoon or so, but no longer.
It's showing its age a little but there are plenty of puzzles of the point and click variety to whizz through plus tons of coded messages for the eagled eyed among you to help you along in your quest to solve this high school murder mystery.
Having done a full install I was a little irritated to have to change discs every so often but it wasn't really a big deal.
For what it is, it's nicely put together and a great introduction to adventure gaming for young girls.

2 out of 5 stars Nancy Drew - Secrets Can Kill   August 18, 2004

I read the reviews and felt positive about my purchase, but to be honest it was a total let down.

The graphics aren't bad, neither's the storyline, but I found that as I was new to the game it quickly became tiresome and here's why:

It came on two discs, meaning that whenever I wanted to switch location I had to change the discs, often the game got stuck at this point or I was left juggling discs.

The story just didn't follow on: The game gives you plenty of freedom, allowing you to explore at your own pace, but that meant that I could find one clue before I found the one I was supposed to find, meaning the story made little sense and I had no idea where to progress next.

Finally, in the end the game just didn't give me anywhere else to go or anything else to do. I had found all the clues, asked the people all the questions and that was it - the game just seemed to lock me out.

I am unsure if it is just this Nancy Drew game, but I would not recommend it - especially seen as it froze everytime I tried to save it - Very disappointing.
